OPERACIONES CON FUNCIONES

Sean dos funciones f y g, la suma, la diferencia, el producto y el cociente para todos los valores de x comunes a ambos dominios, se definen de la siguiente manera:  

  

Suma	(f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x)
Diferencia	(f-g)(x)=f(x) - g(x)
Producto	(f×g)(x)=f(x)×g(x)
Cociente	fg = f(x)g(x ) , g(x)≠0

 Ejemplo: 

Hallar la suma, la diferencia, el producto y el cociente de las funciones f(x)= x + 2 y g(x)= x - 2.

1.     f+g

(f+g) (x) = fx + gx = (x+2) + (x-2) = x+2 + x-2 = 2x

2.     f-g

( f - g ) ( x ) = f x - g x = ( x + 2 ) - ( x - 2 ) = x + 2 - x + 2 = 4

3.     f×g

( f × g ) ( x ) = f x × g x = ( x + 2 ) ( x - 2 ) = x 2 - 4

4.     fg

fg = (x+2) (x-2) = x+2 x-2
